The cannister was made out of an old AUL Spectrum 7 dive light
housing, with large holes drilled in either end. It is simply
held in place by stretching the bottom of the counterlungs
over the ends and tightening the band clamps. Note the
cheesy stainless screening held on with packing tape. That
worked great, although I later added a layer of foam inside
to cut down on the dusting, which was pretty severe immediately
after filling the unit. Another interesting thing is the
location of the hole. Looks obvious, but you can get up
to an inch or two of water in the bottom of the loop
without getting any in the scrubber, and that is quickly
absorbed by the TP. 4-8 mesh sofnolime is preferred
over 8-12, for work-of-breathing reasons.
